Hiking in Honduras (or up the stairs)

The clinic in Santa Lucia is perched atop a small hill overlooking the rest of the town. Jeff first arrived there in the summer of 2000, just after finishing his first year of medical school. We have been returning to this small town for the past eight years, and much has changed since Jeff's first visit. The town now has schools, electricity, clean water, and medical care. We have fortunately begun to put ourselves out of business as physicians!

One of our favorite activities around Santa Lucia is hiking. It is the best way to experience the landscape and people of Honduras. We are very excited to bring Noah along on these hikes, either in his backpack or wrap.

However, Noah yesterday decided that he would not settle for being carried around. In fact, he began immediate training, ascending the stairs all alone. Henri kept a close eye on Noah but appeared concerned throughout. It's going to be an exciting month!
