El presidente y la moto

When the team arrived home from the field clinic yesterday, Noah and I ran downstairs to greet Jeff. His bag was lying on the table, but he was nowhere to be found. An hour later, I grew rather annoyed and slightly concerned when he was still missing.

Laura, our wonderful hostess, noted that her husband was also missing. And she astutely discovered that the motorcyle was gone as well.

Moments later, a buzz could be heard in the distance, ascending the hill from downtown Santa Lucia. Jeff and Andy sped by in a cloud of dust, and their wives looked on in dismay. Pepe Lobo, a Honduran presidential candidate, had landed his helicopter in the nearby soccer field, and our husbands welcomed him on the "moto."

Grandpa Dave, I know that Jeff would love to take you on a birthday spin today also, but this family photo will have to do for now! Happy Birthday!
