Thanks to our firefighters

I'm very happy to report that our visas (and passports) finally arrived yesterday! I replaced my driver's license and officially became a trainer for the Helping Babies Breathe global neonatal resuscitation course this morning. Jeff will head home from a conference in Kansas City tomorrow.

My firefighter sister, Weesie, was involved in fighting a four-alarm fire in Asheville yesterday. One of the captains died while fighting the fire, and at least eight other firefighters were hospitalized for smoke- and heat-related injuries. It was a sobering moment for me, reminding me that firefighters risk their lives every day on our behalf. Please keep the firefighters and their families in your thoughts and prayers. I know that the Asheville fire department is struggling to recover from this tragedy. I am very proud of my sister and thankful that she is okay after a very difficult day.

Wow, soooo glad Weesie is okay. We will be praying for her and her fellow firefighters. That is so awful.

Can't believe you leave so soon. We are excited for your family!
